The new trailer for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes debuted at the Superbowl.
It acts as a direct sequel to War for the Planet of the Apes.
The official premise reads:
'Years after the events of War for the Planet of the Apes, many ape clans have emerged in the oasis to which Caesar led his fellow apes, while humans have regressed into a feral state. One ape leader perverts the teachings of Caesar to enslave other clans in search of the last traces of a secret human technology, while another ape embarks on a journey to find freedom alongside a human girl.'
With Andy Serkis now out of the picture as Caesar, it features a newish cast including Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Peter Macon, Eka Darville, and Kevin Durand.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024)
Many years after the events of the previous film, the apes have expanded their fortresses and humans have been reduced to a wild race. Some ape groups use the knowledge passed down from Caesar to build kingdoms. There is an ape leader who turns against other groups to gain control of human technology. Another monkey saw such a group being enslaved and wants to go to freedom. This one crosses the path of a young person.

There were previous suggestions that Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes would be a reboot of the franchise, but director Wes Ball took to Twitter to alleviate those concerns, saying:
"It’s never been easier for film journalists to actually get in touch with the actual people who actually know... but maybe it’s the point to NOT fact-check these days? Regardless. Don’t worry. I won’t ruin the surprises, but it’s safe to say Caesar’s legacy will continue..."
Even though Caesar died in War for the Planet of the Apes, the new movie will still allude to his leadership and teachings and the world he helped create.
