Dave Bautista has again campaigned to play the lead role in Netflix's upcoming Gears of War movie.
The Gears of War series is one of the most popular video game franchises in the history of Xbox and has sold 22 million copies worldwide.
The plot involves a near-apocalyptic world in which humans are battling against extinction following the emergence of creatures known as the Locust.
There has been constant talk of a movie adaptation and in November of 2022 Netflix officially announced that they would be producing a new feature as well as a television series based on the game.
Bautista, a fan of the video game, threw his hat in the ring to be the main protagonist Marcus Fenix years ago, and following the Netflix announcement, he has done so again.
The former professional wrestler uploaded an old promo of himself in the Gears of War armour with the caption: "I can't make this any easier".

Bautista turned down Fast & Furious
Bautista previously revealed that he turned down a role in the Fast & the Furious franchise in order to pitch a Gears of War movie to Universal Pictures.
"They wanted to talk to me about Fast and the Furious, and I said 'I’m not interested, let’s talk about Marcus Fenix'," he said in an interview with Collider in 2021.
Bautista has carved out an immensely impressive acting career for himself after years as a professional wrestler with WWE.
He has starred in juggernaut movies such as The Guardians of the Galaxy, Spectre and the sequel to Blade Runner. He will next be seen in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
