Gal Gadot is currently promoting her new espionage thriller, Heart of Stone.
The movie was released on 11 August 2023 and tells the story of an intelligence agent, played by Gadot, who must prevent an artificial intelligence system named 'The Heart' from falling into the hands of terrorists.
It co-stars Jamie Dornan, Alia Bhatt, Sophie Okonedo, Matthias Schweighofer, Jing Lusi, Paul Ready, Jon Kortajarena and Archie Madekwe.
Gadot has previously stated that she took inspiration from some iconic spy franchises from the past for Heart of Stone, and when a fan recently dream cast her to play the next 007 in the biggest spy series of all, she responded to GQ:
"That's very nice of you to say, thank you. I'm such a big fan of this genre, I grew up watching Bond, and Mission , and Die Hard, and Bourne Identity. The little girl in me always wanted to play one, and I think after the success of Wonder Woman is when I realized, 'Wait a second, there's an audience for this, where it's female-led.
"There's more space for female-led movies in the genre, and that's kind of what gave Yaron and I, whose my husband and my partner, the boost to go ahead and develop one ourselves. The action, the twists and turns, the scope, the drama, I love everything about these movies, and I'm so happy that we can share Heart of Stone with you."
Gadot married Israeli real estate developer Jaron 'Yaron' Varsano in 2008.
Gadot got banged up filming Heart of Stone
Gadot provided some details on the extensive stunt work that was required on Heart of Stone which left her a little banged up.
“I got so many bruises,” she told the Strait Times.
“Every time I film these types of movies, I always think: ‘Okay, that was the most I’m ever going to be able to do – it can’t get any crazier than that.’
“And then comes the next movie, and the bar just keeps on going up and up. Coming into this, I knew we were going to have huge set pieces, but we had action up in the sky, on the snowy mountain, on the beach, on the street – every type of exterior.
“It’s very physical and it takes months of training prior to filming. But we’re very lucky. We have such incredible stunt teams making sure everything we did looks good and keeping us safe at the same time.”
After Heart of Stone, Gadot's next movie will be a new version of Snow White in which she will play the Evil Queen.
