Ezra Miller's performance in The Flash will "blow away" viewers, according to one of their co-stars, Saoirse-Monica Jackson.

The upcoming Flash movie will be part of the DC extended universe and will be the first standalone outing for the character, who has previously appeared in movies like The Justice League.

The official premise reads:

'Barry Allen travels back in time to prevent his mother's murder, which brings unintended consequences to his timeline'.

Due to the separate timelines and universes that will feature in the movie, we will see two versions of Batman, played by Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck respectively, while Michael Shannon will appear as General Zod.

The entire production of The Flash has been threatened recently due Miller's legal problems, but it is set for a 2023 release, and Jackson has promised fireworks.

“Honestly, it was so amazing for me to see that level of production and that level of creative freedom and scope," the Derry Girls star told Vanity Fair.

“A lot of our scenes were improvised, and I think that it was a really supportive and creative environment.”

On working with Miller specifically, she said: “What a remarkable talent, and I think what a brilliant Flash. It’s just the perfect casting for The Flash. When the world sees that performance, they’ll be completely blown away.”

Ezra Miller's legal issues

Over the last year, Miller has had major legal issues that put the production of The Flash into doubt.

He has been accused of disorderly conduct, assault, burglary and grooming minors.

Vanity Fair reported in September that sources claimed Miller regularly referred to himself as Jesus, the devil and a form of messiah.

Miller apologised for their actions in a statement to Vanity Fair which read:

“Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment. I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behaviour.

"I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”
