Thanos has proved to be one of the most popular villains in the history of comic book movies.
Though his appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was first teased back in 2011's Thor, we didn't see the character fully created until Josh Brolin stepped into the role for Avengers: Infinity War.
As well as Brolin's outstanding, dominant performance, Thanos has emerged as a popular villain as there are some who are actually sympathetic to his goals.
Thanos aims to help living creatures in the universe survive by eliminating half of life in that universe, thus freeing up resources for those who survive.
Even though his plan is effectively genocide, his ultimate goal is the survival of living things.
At the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame, Thanos met his end at the hands of The Avengers, with Tony Stark / Ironman giving his life so that the villain could be defeated.
However, the MCU has proved that any character can return due to the presence of the multiverse.
And, the man who actually created Thanos wants to see him again.
Thanos to make MCU comeback?
Jim Starlin created Thanos back in 1973 for The Invincible Ironman #55.
"Well, I think he probably hits a nerve," Starlin told Inverse of Thanos.
"He raises questions that a number of us have thought about.
"He's also just a badass character. I don't think anybody thinks we've seen the last of him. Disney made a shitload of money off of him and there's probably a shitload of money still to be made.
"So my fingers are crossed."
