Aaron Taylor-Johnson believes the upcoming blockbuster Bullet Train will be the summer's most unmissable movie.
Bullet Trains tells the story of Ladybug, played by Brad Pitt, an assassin asked to complete one last job by retrieving a briefcase on board a high-speed train from Tokyo to Kyoto.
As well as Pitt and Taylor-Johnson, it stars Brian Tyree Henry, Joey King, Sandra Bullock, Andrew Koji, Hiroyuki Sanadi, Bad Bunny, Michael Shannon and Zazie Beetz among others.
It will be released at the beginning of August in the United States and is expected to do big business for Sony.
And, recent words from Taylor-Johnson have only ramped up expectations.
“I watched (the movie) last week and I was literally howling with laughter to the point that I almost peed on my seat a little," the Kick-Ass star said at the CineEurope conference in Barcelona.
"But honestly, this is the summer movie you do not want to miss — I am not kidding. It follows the ultimate legend Brad Pitt like you’ve never seen him before, surrounded by an incredible ensemble of absolutely bombastic, unhinged assassins who are connected but with conflicting agendas.
"You just can’t help but love Brad Pitt. I mean, he is the most handsome man in the world, but is also a comic genius."
There were never any rumours that Bullet Train could potentially be released on a streaming service, and Taylor-Johnson insists that the movie is made for the cinema.
“Everyone was 100% committed to the cinematic experience," he said.
"We were making this film during the height of the pandemic (so) we have high hopes that it would one day be seen on the big screen, the way it should be."
