Geniale songteksten

Ik ben begonnen aan een zelf-studie engels, om het een beetje leuk te houden heb ik songteksten vertalen er een onderdeel van gemaakt. Dus kom maar op met die titels :evil

Het is trouwens ook wel tof om hier wat te lullen over songteksten, toch?

Ik heb zelf ook een soort van zelf-cursus gedaan, door puur op te schrijven wat er in een film gezegd wordt. Ondertitels uit en schrijven maar. Kom je er niet uit, dan zet je de engelse ondertiteling aan. Zo heb ik 8 films helemaal uitgeschreven en ik ben er van overtuigd dat ze m'n engelse vocabulair uitgebreid hebben

Maarem, om je een leuke songtekst te geven. Het nummer Some Devil van Dave Matthews is erg goed, of Typical Situation (van DMB) heeft ook een mooie tekst.

Als je Some Devil wilt downloaden, moet je oppassen dat je niet een nepper download. Omdat het nog een vrij nieuw nummer is, zjn er nog veel nummers in omloop met dezelfde titel, maar met een ander nummer erachter.

Ik vind zelf bv de lyrics van Township Rebellion van Ratm erg interessant:

ikzelf heb engels geleerd door He-Man en consorten op sky channel. geen ondertiteling. Resultaat was op zowel m'n havo en m'n vwo gemiddeld een 9 in het eindexamenjaar (en dan zijn er nog mensen die beweren dat tekenfilms slecht voor je zijn).

Wow, veel werk zeg! Maar idd een goede manier...

Ik wil me nergens mee bemoeien, maar als men hier lyrics gaat plaatsen, lijkt me dat niet echt handig....

Als je engels wilt leren luisteren en schrijven, dan moet je vooral niet dit soort teksten gaan vertalen.

Ik zou zeggen: kies een nummer uit, en probeer zelf de tekst (in het engels) op te schrijven. Als je er niet uit komt, raadpleeg je het internet, want die lyrics zijn overal te vinden. En mocht je het nodig vinden ze te vertalen, moet je dat vooral doen

Komt eigenlijk op hetzelfde neer als wat ik dan met films deed. Alleen ging ik de tekst niet vertalen. Als ik de betekenis van een woord niet weet, zoek ik dat gewoon op.

Never late) zijn meestal erg knap en niet zo moeilijk om te vertalen. verder kunnen de songteksten van dEUS ook wel tellen (Sister Dew, For the roses, Secret hell.), teksten van Eels zijn ook erg knap (album: Daisies of the galaxy) Songteksten die een verhaal vertellen vind ik het leukst om te vertalen, tegenover de 'chaosteksten met een heleboel mooie zinnen' (Vb Coldplay of Live)

als er veel slang in zit is het sowieso moeilijk te vertalen, als je bijvoorbeeld naar een van de latere nummers van E-40 kijkt dan zul je er waarschijnlijk niet veel wijs uit kunnen.
