"A far off land. A far off journey. A far off adventure."
Teenagers Nonnie Parker and Harry Winslow are the only ones to survive an attack by a gang of poachers. Their lives are in danger and together they set out into the desert in search of the only man who can help them, Colonel Mopani Theron. Together with him and the bushman Xhabbo, the children traverse the Kalahari desert in search of a safe place to stay.
