"Their love of music inspired the friendship of a lifetime."

The portrait of a special jazz legend, the 89-year-old Clark Terry (Quincy Jones' first teacher). He is one of the few artists who can say he was in both Count Basie and Duke Ellington's band. He is followed for four years with the camera as he teaches the blind child prodigy, 23-year-old pianist Justin Kauflin. During filming, Terry also begins to lose his eyesight.
