Banlieue 13 was and is a great action movie.

One that excelled in French cinema action movies and was highly regarded.

And luckily luc besson has once again put his finger in the pie,,, and produced the screenplay. (I believe)

And it is very tightly directed, hence my sufficient,'

But other than that it's not so pretty.

The action enthusiast has often seen much better, but this can also be done with it.

mediocre, but quite okay.

What a pathetic display this is. You can't call this a remake of Banlieue 13, but a copy. And not such a great copy either. The only thing they have come up with themselves is that it's not in Paris now, but in Detroit. The district is not called Banlieue 13 this time, but Brick Mansions. The grocery store is now a launderette, but nothing else has been invented by itself. I understand that this movie is much less appreciated than Banlieue 13.

For the people who are planning to watch this movie, I would advise to watch Banlieue 13 instead of this fake movie!!!

Lots of potential.

An experimental action director. Those are usually the fun directors. But it seems as if director Delamarre didn't dare to let himself go completely here. It looks nice, but the maximum has not been achieved by far.

Haven't seen the original yet, so it's hard to compare them in terms of barrel and style. But this one at least had a face of its own. It often looks fine, but I had the feeling that the director could go a bit further in terms of experimentation.

For example, the film is quite interesting at times, but these kinds of films lean on a high tempo. Delamarre doesn't know how to keep it in it skillfully, so this film also has boring moments. That is deadly in these kinds of films, because they certainly don't have it with the story and characters.

For the rest also fairly brave and safe action. It often looks quite nice, but it doesn't get much further than hitting, throwing and kicking. And Belle's impressive moves can't keep filling the film for 90 minutes.

Walker, in his last role, is unfortunately somewhat mediocre. I know he can do much, much better. Belle can stunt well, act less so. RZA also never really has a dangerous appearance, unfortunately. There is little left for the rest. I liked Gouchy Boy best as K2.

Film with no story and underused action. Lots of potential and a good opening. But the rest of the film falls short in many areas. More style, more blood and better, coarser action. And definitely more speed. It's actually missing. For the rest fine, but not enough for a sufficient.
