Musarañas plot
Spain, 1950. Montse is no longer a girl. Her mother died while giving birth to her younger sister and her father couldn't take it and fled like a coward. Now forced to be a father, mother and big sister, Montse hides within the four walls of their shady Madrid flat, where she becomes increasingly obsessive and unbalanced. She suffers from agoraphobia and does not dare to step outside the house. She works as a seamstress and her only link to reality is her sister.

Quite reasonable.
Thanks to the posts here I have read/watched as little as possible about the film and fortunately! The plot is not very original, as is the performance. What remains is actually a solid film, which does not excel anywhere. Audiovisually it's nice, acting is nice, script is nice (somewhat predictable, but still with a good build-up of tension) and it's also nice in terms of symbolism. Just a great movie as a snack, no more and no less.

A somewhat unusual film that starts as a drama and ends as a horror. The story between the two sisters is interesting, but for my taste there is too much of an atmosphere. Acting by the, with the exception of Luis Tosar, somewhat lesser-known but very experienced cast was fine. I think these directors will continue to make themselves heard.
The film is certainly not flawless, the transition from drama to horror felt quite forced, the desperation of one of the sisters just falls out of the blue. The abusestory is also hinted too much so you can see it coming, although I didn't see the ending itself (that they are not sisters but mother and daughter) at all.
3* for this somewhat strange film. In terms of atmosphere and sick characters, it reminded me a bit of the better La Madre Muerta | The Dead Mother (1993), that film is a lot more balanced and also more visually appealing.

Quite atmospheric film, with the camera caught in the building as the seamstress is ( and the man, á la Misery). I loved the transition from drama, via hopelessness to horror.
