Der Kreis plot

Zurich, 1958. The young teacher Ernst Ostertag falls head over heels for the transvestite Robi Rapp. He then becomes torn between his bourgeois existence and his devotion to homosexuality. Ernst becomes a member of the gay organization 'Der Kreis' and lives through the climax and eventual fall of the organization, which is seen throughout Europe as the pioneer of gay emancipation.
