After the Promise plot

"Based On True Story"

Carpenter Elmer Jackson, after the death of his wife, tries to raise his four sons as best as possible. He works himself to the bone to get bread on the shelves. However, child protection services take the children away from Elmer and place them in various children's homes. Elmer is devastated and tries to find out where his sons are. But Child Protective Services refuse to tell him where they are housed, and he can expect little help from the court either. Still, Elmer continues his long and bitter struggle to find his children.
