"Even Ladd is scared!"
They want to buy the house and the antique furnishings and arrive just as the owner reads her will. Shortly after her death, the family reads the last piece of this, which states that no one gets any money until the housekeeper and the cat are dead. Because the owner may not have died of natural causes, these two are in mortal danger.
