Hemel in Guangzhou plot

The young Dutch architect Mark Hemel, together with his wife Barbara Kuit, wins an architecture competition and designs the tallest television tower in the world in Guangzhou. His dream to build an icon becomes reality. This tower will become his calling card and may give him the opportunity to move to China, a country where there is still room for special ideas. But as the tower's construction progresses, disappointments follow. The film follows Mark's struggles and his need for control. His relationship to the tower is therefore constantly changing; sometimes he caresses her like a lover and then he blames her indiscretion in relation to what he once envisioned.
