The film follows world-class alpinists Fabrizio Zangrilli and Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner as they attempt to climb the so-called K2 along with veterans Jake Meyer and Chris Szymiec. The director joins this group during the 100th anniversary of the essential expedition in 1909 by the Duke of Abruzzi. The entire history of the mountain is also covered.
