A Mother's Son plot

Rosie, a mother of two, lives with her new love interest Ben, who also has two children. Rosie tries her best to keep the newly blended family together. One day, the family is confronted with the murder of a girl from the same school as Rosie's son Jamie. Rosie struggles with feelings of doubt and guilt after finding bloodied sneakers under Jamie's bed.
