Mees Kees op Kamp plot

Class 6b with Tobias, Sep, Rashida and all other famous children go to camp led by Mees Kees and Mrs. Dreus. It should above all be an instructive working week. But when Dreus goes through her back, all the responsibility suddenly rests on the shoulders of Mees Kees. He starts working with the children in good spirits. If only it were a working month instead of a working week. Or no, a working year! Then things start to go wrong and Mees Kees starts to seriously doubt himself.

Slightly better than the first part. Still a children's film, but less so. A school director like Dreus plays a kind of bogeyman (clearly a role aimed at small children), but is not a monster but just a more strict teacher, which makes this quite watchable as an adult. In any case, the film is sympathetic. The fact that the whole thing is a bit naive and not really believable means that the film ultimately doesn't deliver enough for me, but it doesn't really bother me either. 2.5*.

Not so bad. I have never actually found Sanne Wallis de Vries very funny, so neither does she here as the bossy headmaster Dreus, with her strange Mirella Matthieu haircut. I think it's a bit like Trunchbull from Matilda. I found the good-natured Meester Kees/Mees Kees, who is of course loved by all children, endearing. Well played by Willem Voogd.

In the second film from the amusing Mees Kees series, headmaster Dreus [Sanne Wallis de Vries] has organized a working week for the class of Meester Kees [Willem Voogd]. Dreus has to go to the hospital due to back problems, so it is up to Mees Kees to follow Dreus' script to the letter. That turns out to be an impossible task, so Mees Kees and the kids try to make something of it in their own way. There is a side plot about Tobias [Felix Osinga], who has not yet worked on the death of his father and with caretaker Koos [Martijn Fischer] who has difficulty reading and writing, but those interesting themes are developed superficially. What remains is safe, cheerful entertainment for the family in which Bredero succeeds this time in guaranteeing the children's spontaneity. The best joke: the changing cover of the script. Next: Mees Kees Op De Planken.
