Nice mindless action movie. The story is a bit stupid and unnecessarily complicated. But that's not what these movies are about. The action is well worked out at a fast pace, but is otherwise not groundbreaking or very spectacular. There are some exciting scenes. Penn acts well and can handle these kinds of roles well. 3.5

Tightly directed action film that is pleasant to look at.

The phrase "One man against an army of bad guys" pretty much sums up the movie's content. Yes, the storyline does not excel in originality. It's been shown more than once. And then some reservation at the start is certainly permissible as far as I'm concerned. Unnecessary, it turns out.

The film slides by at a rapid pace. Boredom is nowhere to be found. The action scenes are many and good. And yes, here and there are indeed some blemishes to discover, but what would it be. It's detail. The main line is catchy and entertaining.

Penn is a convincing action hero, although he doesn't easily arouse sympathy in his role. Trinca is colorless present. Bardem seems to be increasingly becoming a parody of his earlier roles. Nice, I think. Also decent acting from the other cast members.

What is special is that a scene takes place in the controversial environment of an arena where a folkloric event is taking place at that moment. Politically not very correct, but a nice statement.

The film also pays attention to the exploitation in third world countries by multinationals. Also fine.

The story is actually quite okay and in terms of action this film can certainly be there. Not too much, not too little. It is also well portrayed and certainly not repetitive. Unfortunately, the romance isn't too fleshed out. Sean Penn is doing really well with his toned (and probably jetted) body. His character head always works well. The rest of the cast is also not the least, but I found Javier Bardem and Mark Rylance more annoying than good acting. Nice running time for an action movie, but it didn't bother me.
