Perhaps I saw it at the wrong time, but this film just didn't resonate with me. The story is quite simple, but it's barely told—instead, a lot is added, which could have been quite exciting, but the characters don't really connect for me. And then it's not really captivating.

Whether Deneuve is playing well, hmm, I daren't say. You could just as easily call it autopilot, and in that case, I'd say that's true. Seigner is a bit of a sideshow, and I don't find the rest particularly impressive either.

But maybe I wasn't in the right mood. Try again in a year. Maybe.

Tragi-romantic drama with DeNeuve playing her role well and seeing the long-lost Dutronc reappear in her life. The whole thing flows along, bringing interpersonal relationships and their actions together. What do you sacrifice? For what purpose? And at what cost? That's where the overlap with Seigner lies, who does her best to keep up with DeNeuve... Watchdog Bacri weaves between the characters. 2.7*
