La Fille du 14 Juillet plot

Hector met Truquette at the Louvre on July 14, and since that day has had only one preoccupation: seducing the girl who obsesses him. The best way is still to take her on a trip to the sea. Pator, her boyfriend, can't blame her if she wants to come, especially if she's accompanied by her friend Charlotte. The trio set off along the bad back roads of France, which has no money to maintain them. Because it's crisis! Because more work has to be done, the government has decided to shorten the holiday to one month.

After the (anti) tip from kappeuter at Les Secrets de l'Invisible I also watched this one from the director Antonin Peretyatko. I also found this very funny. A number of scenes are played at x1.25 speed, which speeds up the movements and raises the voices, making it a kind of slapstick. It's the little things that are so cheesy that they make the movie funny: They run into a bar, and one of them runs right over a large chessboard that two people were playing with and kicks over the chess pieces. He looks at the ground (you can see him thinking: "what the fuck is this all here on the ground") and the chess players sit down at a table and continue with their drinks. I can't explain why exactly, but I find that funny. The women are all hot and sexy, and the men are all weirdos. The film is quite sexist, but it is all so abstract and slapstick that it is somehow acceptable. The running time is just right for this nonsense. Just when you realize you've had enough, it's over.
