Seen a lot back in the day. The animation is of a high standard, but it all remains a bit soulless. But it had its charm.

Funny to have seen for a while, and it is also nice and short and sweet. But despite the charm, this is also very old-fashioned. The basic premise of Jonathan Swift, in which the traveler Lemuel Gulliver ends up stranded on an island full of mini-people (and in a few other places, but that does not occur here), is what makes the film. It does give the film some nice adventure twists, but the execution is otherwise somewhat old-fashioned and tame. Especially almost every scene with the couple in love from the two kingdoms makes your toes curl a little and ditto for when Gulliver himself opens his mouth, and in terms of jokes you should not count on too much level. But the animation, although not really beautiful, has its charm and I did not find it annoying to watch in the end. Although that is certainly also partly because of the historical value, which I do have a soft spot for.
