Le Brasier Ardent plot
Elle lives with her husband, a wealthy industrialist, on not very good terms. While she enjoys the way he caters to all her whims, she wonders if he really loves her. He, on the other hand, torments himself for his imagined rivals. One morning she awakens from a nightmare, in which she is chased by a man in various guises. It turns out to be the famous detective Z whose memoir she has just read.
