At first the film seems like a simple nonsense, but the further the film progresses, the more clear what the intention is. The statement at the end of the film "this is what the military is for" is telling. Ultimately, state goods are socially deployed in a village's economy, and the fact that this happens by breaking the hierarchy and getting everyone to work together is a powerful metaphor for the ranks in the military sphere. Humanity, friendship and love, including pecunia non olet!
