The Hunchback of Notre Dame plot

Esmeralda is in Notre Dame during the Festival of Fools when the ruthless Archbishop Frollo sees her and falls in love with her. He sends the hunchbacked Hunchback Quasimodo of Notre Dame to capture her, but it fails and he is captured. Esmeralda helps him when he is flogged, but is seen as a witch because of it. In turn, he rescues her and takes her to the cathedral and befriends the beautiful gypsy. But Frollo wants Esmeralda for himself and will do anything to make it happen. Quasimodo does everything he can to protect Esmeralda, but Frollo has the support of the citizenry and Quasimodo is alone.
