Het Ritme van Elly de Waard plot
The 72-year-old De Waard shows himself in many guises: as a poet, as a former pop journalist, as a feminist, as a stockbroker and as 'caretaker' of the former rest home Vogelwater in Castricum. Outspoken and indiscriminate, Elly talks about her way of life, her career, her earnings on the stock market and her love for poetry. The masculine-looking Elly de Waard moves around in her rustic villa Vogelwater in Bergen with a housekeeper like a baroness, but a special one. From pop journalist for Vrij Nederland and de Volkskrant, De Waard emerged as a poet who grinds out events in language, as she herself puts it. Her housekeeper determines the rhythm of De Waard, who has breakfast in bed and then muses. The housekeeper tried to have breakfast in bed together, but De Waard preferred to do it alone.
