The definitive, glorious (and musical) story of how the Hebrew song 'Hava Nagila' (Let's Rejoice), based on a traditional melody from Ukraine, became the signature tune of Jewish life. Despite the fact that the melody only really became universal in recent decades, the song has never lost its Jewish soul or origin. This documentary features interviews with Harry Belafonte, Leonard Nimoy, Connie Francis, and Glen Campbell, among others, as well as renditions of the song by Belafonte, Danny Kaye, Bob Dylan, Lena Horne, Regina Spektor, and Chubby Checker. This very special and universally appealing melody turns out to be a tune that anyone can whistle or hum.
