Hash vaping and free sex, the sixties generation in the Netherlands is resisting the established order. What has this quest for freedom meant for their children? In the revealing documentary Alone in the world, Denise Janzée, daughter of Willeke van Ammelrooy, follows three children of well-known artists: Alex Vinkenoog, son of poet/artist Simon Vinkenoog; Marcus Muzea, stepson of the famous Rotterdam poet Cor Vaandrager and Sandrien van Brakel, daughter of film director Nouchka van Brakel. Their parents fought against the bourgeois morality of the 1950s. Their children often had to figure it out for themselves.
