"Everything in this story is true...trust us."
Two young filmmakers choose an insane conspiracy theorist as the subject of their new project. The task seems simple: befriend him, gain his trust and let the theories speak for themselves. But things turn out to be a little more complicated. Despite his street preaching, he turns out to be an eloquent and intelligent person. The longer they listen to him, the more they begin to wonder if there isn't some truth in his stories. But then he suddenly disappears. That is the beginning of an obsessive attempt to reconstruct his work.

Yes, at most a thriller. I think it's a reasonable film, but it mainly confirms that I have nothing to do with conspiracy about 9/11, for example, it always makes me itch a bit. The only conspiracy theory I believe in is that theories are deliberately thrown into the world to distract tinfoil hats from current events 
That aside, the film is well put together; after about halfway it gets a bit darker atmosphere and it ends in a nice climax. Not nerve-wracking but it is quite exciting, although it is very similar to other (found footage) films. Apart from the originality of conspiracy and the new world order, I also don't see why this should be a 'reanimation of the genre' because it is very much alive in recent years with a whole row of better movies than this one.
The plot also has some questionable issues. That he quickly discovers the pattern from a jumble of hundreds of newspaper clippings is too easy. And I thought it was very naive of those guys that they thought they could get into the circle unnoticed after a volatile deal, while they knew they were being watched day and night.
What I do like is the element of the Tarsus club deliberately releasing a bit of information , which allows the boys to get this far, although the club does reveal a lot of itself (like everything in the end but that is probably a set up in all details, after all it is a 'docu within a docu').
That's quite well thought out and a nice surprise, so I can't call the film bad, but apart from the last fifteen minutes it didn't appeal to me much. I highly recommend it for those who like conspiracy. 2.5 - 3*

Reasonable.
"Revival of the found footage" thing I can still understand. Still one of the few films that do something different with it. The first three quarters of an hour is clearly the strongest part of the film.
After that it might get a little too corny. The makers want to pull you into the whole "conspiracy" thing, but they don't fully succeed. Perhaps because the cult is indeed a bit too similar to Kill List (more like a local peasant event instead of a worldly phenomenon of the most powerful people), probably also because it all goes a bit too easy, given the people they face.
The last half hour doesn't bring the tension you expect with a film like this, fortunately the ending is touching but that's just a little too little, a little too late. Always dangerous, those mystery films that show their cards halfway through. This one doesn't do a great job, but otherwise a nice variation on the found footage happening.

Good attempt to make a horror film with an unusual subject. I think it's a great thing that the makers actually managed to weave 'horror' into their faux docu, since there isn't a single supernatural or unnatural element used. Yet they create a climate of fear through the increasing paranoia, the subcutaneous tension and a fat, occult wink during the denouement. But there is also something wrong with this print. I especially have the impression that the screenplay in the editing room was quite fleshed out. Some events and storylines are rushed rather quickly, so that the conspiracy part does not come out completely. As a result, the film loses power and credibility, while this could have been easily remedied with a little more patience. In the end, the limited running time breaks the film sour, because the real punch in the stomach is not forthcoming, precisely because it is all so easy, so fleeting. Not bad, but could have been more.
