Come Fly with Me: The Story of Pan Am plot
Documentary about the rise and fall of the American airline Pan American World Airlines, better known as Pan Am. Founded in 1927, the company grew into the largest airline in the world after World War II, and is a forerunner in the field of jet aircraft, the use of of computers and mass tourism. In addition, Pan Am is the driving force behind the construction of the Boeing 747, the most successful passenger aircraft of all time. In the 1970s, however, the tide turns; the airline has grown out of its seams, and the oil crisis and some hijackings have sharply reduced both profits and passenger numbers. The attack on a Pan Am-Boeing over Lockerbie in Scotland in 1988 turned out to be the final blow: in 1991 the company was declared bankrupt.
