12: A Film about the Fret Click plot
Youthful wantonness! Ingenious ingenuity on the skateboard! Slogans of the many trends in today's skate culture. These are the qualifications that cemented the reputation of a close-knit group of twelve friends who called themselves the "Fret Click," a name whose origins are still obscure. The diehard members of this group spent weekend after weekend in self-appropriated skateboard spots such as the RAI in Amsterdam and Weena in Rotterdam. They forged train tickets, slept on the street and were invariably late to skateboarding competitions. Their legendary status was immortalized in a Nike sneaker that was dedicated to the 'Fret Click', an honor that in the past only went to great sports heroes such as Michael Jordan. In a fast, humorous and moving way, this documentary takes us from the origins and first exploits, to the current activities of the 'Frets'.
