A movie from my childhood. When I look at it now I think it's crap. Bad acting, bursting with continuity errors and not the most compelling Burroughs story. Is it a comedy? That was the idea I had of it. Peter Cushing - great in Star Wars, Sherlock Holmes and many a Hammer horror - is a particularly funny Harold Loydd-like character in this film. I could laugh at him at times, but I suspect it wasn't even the intention.
