"A Man in Conflict With Himself"
When John North, an aspiring writer, pulls the emergency brakes on an overnight train he's taking to spend a weekend with his publisher's wife, it sets off a series of events that lead to a train crash, murder and manhunt by the police. But not everything is what it seems.

Although the denouement is rather disappointing and "convenient", the little-known British director Daniel Birt still takes you along for more than an hour in a fascinating and exciting intrigue. If Hitchcock had been in the chair, the film would, perhaps with the exception of a few witticisms, not have been better and would have received much more attention.
Good structure, clear dialogues and actors who put their best foot forward.
The music is by Stanley Black, a highly regarded conductor at the time.

Todd's brainwaves, North, lead to an inner conflict in the area of love. The probability bordering on the uncertainty of the main character degenerates into an interesting plot, in which Wilding's mother plays an important role. Well made for that time.
