The title sums it up well: breezy. Not only the character, but also the feeling of the film. Not very typical Eastwood this, but a very pleasant, light romantic drama that offers little surprise, but that is very pleasant to watch. Nice and summery too, which fits perfectly with the current temperatures. Holden and Lenz play well and have a comic chemistry. In itself not strange that this is one of the most forgotten Eastwoods, but I do not advise against seeing it.

Oh yes, that folk song at the beginning is indeed very nice.

A super romantic film about a young flower power girl, who rolls into the life of a somewhat jaded man. Optimism versus cynicism, but... it clicks like never before. The chemistry between William Holden and Kay Lenz is great. Oddly enough, Lenz's film career never took off, although she did have some successes in the television world.

I'm a fan of drama, as long as it doesn't get too sentimental. And of course there are exceptions that prove this rule. The swooning ending of this film is such an exception. Wonderfully romantic! I got really worked up about the scene with Frank's friend in the sauna. But for the rest of the story that scene is of course essential. You also felt that something like that was coming.

For me, this is, together with Changeling and Million Dollar Baby, the best film of Clint Eastwood as a director. A real recommendation for lovers of romance. This is one of those films that you have to put on late at night to lay down with a satisfied feeling afterwards. And then dream away...

Kay Lenz is a kind of walking boy's dream who just walks into William Holden's life. Her natural beauty provides exciting scenes, but at the same time her innocent character also knows how to enchant you. It is hard not to fall for such a girl. I enjoyed the film from start to finish. The only thing that works against a film with this theme is how Eastwood has to knit a decent ending to it. You can tell that he had a bit of trouble with this in the run-up to the end, but in the end it is credible and brings the film to a (credible) worthy ending.
