Silent Night plot
"He knows who's been naughty."
The residents of the Wisconsin town of Cryer get ready for the big day on Christmas Eve. The events revolve around the annual Christmas parade, which brings a record number of Santas to the city. Sheriff Deputy Aubrey Bradimore reluctantly works the night shift, dealing with drunken Santas, road closures and a stressed-out population. But things are about to take a deadly turn. A vicious serial killer dressed as Santa Claus has created his own wish list, and everyone on it is in big trouble.

I secretly expected a bit more from this, but despite the nice camera work, the atmosphere never really comes into it. It is somewhat entertaining and only gets a bit boring towards the end, but there really isn't much to enjoy.
It is all a bit harder and more brutal than expected, which is nice in itself. Especially the moment, where one goes into the wood chipper, was good. Unfortunately, the rest of the kills are not. They look hard, but are often quite the same cloth.
In addition, Silent Night lacks humor and tension. Single the wrong pastor made me smile a few more times with his wrong texts. The rest of the characters are very little, including McDowell, who has had quite a few notable lows in his career.

Merry Christmas Slasher hehe!
Everything has a bit of a cheesy vibe, but this is done in a subtle way that gives the film color. The acting is generally fine, but with no peaks and valleys... The kills are nice and brutal and occasionally super creative, so many plus points for that anyway! The gore is present but mainly consists of a lot of blood. The exciting moments are present but don't really come across as exciting.
The film feels like a slight parody of the slasher genre, but of course it doesn't do this as strongly as, for example, a Scream or I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Nice to know the Santa Killer is a metalhead haha!! (The car scene)
The ending/plot was ok. Maybe I'll watch it again at Christmas!
