The Passion of Martin plot

Martin is a 30-year-old photographer who seems to have finally found his soul mate. After seeing a woman adoring his work in a gallery, he bumps into her again at a wedding where he's arranging the photos. The two immediately get along and they jump into bed together the same night. But when Martin wakes up the next morning, she is gone. From that point on, we get a peek inside Martin's head, who seems to be unable to get his questions answered. Why did she leave?
