Spring Breakers plot

Brit, Candy, Cotty and Faith have been best friends since elementary school. They live together in a boring student house and are looking for adventure. All they need to do to have real fun is save enough money for spring break. When they meet the criminal 'Alien', he promises to provide them with all the thrills and excitement they could wish for. With the encouragement of their new boyfriend, it soon becomes apparent just how far girls are willing to go for their ultimate spring break.

I myself went to Florida a while ago with some friends, to see if Spring Break was indeed such a crazy intention. And it sure was. Drink drugs music women etc. Heaven on earth I thought at the time. I'm afraid I've outgrown that a little bit. This aside, by the way..
The film has a certain appeal. Except for the extremely beautiful ladies, the parties, drink and drugs, the drama is well worked out. There's something fascinating about the way the girls think, something understandable. The film doesn't have much of the dialogues, but emotionally it is very strong. The setting gives it something nostalgic. It's a pity that the film switches to a crime/action film just too early, where I would have preferred to see the party content and the drama part a bit more in-depth. Play time was just too short in my opinion. Audiovisually, both literally and figuratively a party, acting amply up to standard.
Man man, what a low score here. I rarely disagree so much.

Class movie. Spring Breakers is madness, anarchy, debauchery and total emptiness… In all the right ways. From the adrenaline-pumping opening scene to the last dazzling part, you'll be captivated by all the visual violence that director Harmony Korine fires at you. But by mentioning only the visual part, you're doing a disservice to Korine's clever directing and the strong acting of Franco and the actresses. Hudgens, Benson, Gomez and Rachel Korine are excellent as young women who are bored and radiate utter emptiness, who want to celebrate Spring Break to experience something.
The boundaries blur and Hudgens and Benson especially go wild as Candy and Brit, who go further and further in their quest for fun and adventure. When Franco appears in their lives as Alien, things go horribly wrong and fun, drink and drugs turn into criminal activity and self-destruction. Kudos to Korine who made a movie with a somewhat simple plot, but with so much visual flair, memorable scenes and actors who give everything that is left more than enough for you to enjoy. I will not soon forget the piano scene. Spring Breakers isn't for everyone, but I enjoyed this one and a half hours.
