Laura lives with her daughter in New York. She has a very demanding job and is fully focused on her career. Her daughter is not so happy in the big city. One day, Laura receives a subpoena from her ex-husband who wants co-parenting. So Laura has to return to rural Texas to appear in court with her ex. Although they are very different, they still have feelings for each other.
