Beautiful Creatures plot
"Dark secrets will come to light."
The story is about a popular high school student who hates his small South Carolina town where nothing ever happens. Until he meets 16-year-old Lena Duchanne and falls in love with her. Her family has just moved to the town. The couple must overcome an ancient curse that has haunted her family for generations and uncover dark secrets about their family, their history and the town they live in.

Usually fantasy movies are not my thing. But I quite like this film because of the undeniable chemistry between Alden Ehrenreich and Alice Englert and of course because of Emma Thompson, who shows her best side again. Not a great movie, but quite entertaining. I don't know Twilight, so I can't compare to that.

When Ethan [Alden Ehrenreich] falls for nearly 16-year-old Lena [Alice Englert], he soon notices that something special is going on with her. When it turns out that Lena's entire family has magical powers and that from her 16th birthday, Lena can use her own powers for good or evil, the family puts Ethan and his love for Lena to the test. The charismatic protagonists, strong supporting cast and excellent special effects make up for the fact that we're dealing with a gaudy Twilight clone here. Those who are not familiar with that film series or who just can't get enough of it, will probably rate this a little higher.
