V Tumane plot
'In the Fog' is based on the book of the same name by the Belarusian writer and social activist Vasil Bykov (1924-2003). It is set in the western border area of the USSR, 1942. The local partisans vehemently resisted the German occupation of the region. Two partisans are ordered to kill a suspected collaborator, Sushenya. The innocent Sushenya desperately tries to prove his innocence, but is taken to a forest by the partisans. One on one with his enemies, deep in the dark forest, he is forced to make a moral decision under immoral circumstances.
