Een Handige Dromer plot
AL Snijders is winner of the Constantijn Huygens Prize. Writing is pacing and AL Snijders does that around his house as he rakes the path, repairs the roof and chops wood. Snijders has no seat, and has made a virtue of necessity. He successfully writes very short stories with major consequences about the things at stake: worry, worry, sadness and joy. We read reflections on city and country, life and death, animals and people, machines and tools. In 2010 he was awarded the Constantijn Huygens Prize. He himself says that he is unambitious: is he making his own myth or is it just fear to participate? Does Snijders coincide with who he wants to be, does he manage to achieve what he wants, or does he just leave everything to chance in life?
