After his parents go on a 'vacation' to Paris for 20 years, 11-year-old Conrad (Jason Bateman) is raised by the hotel staff. Now in his early thirties, his life is filled with women and he enjoys all the comforts of a prestigious hotel. However, this changes when his parents get divorced and his allowance is stopped, which means that he ends up on the street. He has to move in with a friend.
