Love Letters plot

An ambitious senator (Weber) looks back on his life after the death of a woman (Linney) he loved and communicated with only through correspondence. The film is told in flashbacks, beginning with the two meeting as children and beginning their lifelong exchange of letters. Growing in political aspirations, he leaves her behind, and she becomes an artist who must fight to survive. While he is successful, she leads a turbulent life.
