Wrath of the Titans plot

"Feel the Wrath"

Ten years after defeating the monstrous Kraken in a heroic battle, Perseus - demigod and son of Zeus - tries to live a normal life as a fisherman. Meanwhile, gods and Giants battle for supremacy. The gods, weakened by a lack of human devotion, lose control of the captive Giants and their ferocious leader Kronos, father of the ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. The triumvirate long ago overthrew their father and left him to his fate in Tartarus, a dungeon deep in the underworld.

Fairly unnecessary sequel of Clash of the Titans, in which Perseus can again take on all kinds of gods and monsters.

Other than that, there's really little to report about this film, except that some events are quite cool, culminating in the stupid scenes with the Cyclopen. That Perseus actually shows a fair amount of awe for these giants, yes...even a little scared, while in the previous film he practically had ten fingers in his nose the most impressive monsters ( like the kraken and stuff...) destroys, doesn't make sense of course.

Visually it's all pretty okay, with Kronos as the highlight. However...impressive as he is, he is easily defeated, just like the Kraken.

Nicest actor here is Bill Nighy as Hephaestus, who even literally refers to the most moronic moment from the previous film . And that's fun and gives the film just that dash of self-mockery.
Lesser actors are Édgar Ramírez as Ares, whom I, as the impressive Greek god of war, didn't exactly find impressive.
Worthington isn't too good either, but hey, as an action hero he does quite well.
Neeson and Fiennes are redoing their roles from the previous film.

In concrete terms: funny viewing food that falls out a bit less than its predecessor.

Same.

What really helps these films up are the large monsters that make for a wonderfully spectacular finale. Unfortunately, this film is again not very convincing in the scenes outside the action. A bit the same besides.

Fiennes and Neeson are back and making some headway, but Worthington is still kind of in there without really looking forward to it. The rest is also bland and not exactly convincing, and still poorly decorated.

Saved by the action scenes and a spectacular finale. More myths would have done this movie pretty well, now it's all (still) too standard and too stupid. Too bad, I always like to watch these kinds of things, that makes it even less. Enough action and fantasy luckily, that keeps the film at 2.5*.

Demigod Perseus [Sam Worthington] , the son of Zeus [Liam Neeson], has sworn that he will henceforth live as a human. Until Zeus convinces him that he is the only one who can protect humanity from the abominable Kronos. While Zeus tries in vain to forge an alliance with his resentful brother Hades [Ralph Fiennes] and his son Ares [Edgar Ramírez], Perseus joins an expedition of Queen Andromeda [Rosamund Pike] to save his father. The help of the unreliable Agenor [Tobey Kebbell] turns out to be a necessary evil. Bill Nighy's flamboyant role as Hephaestus, the man who helps the expedition reach the underworld, but otherwise this is a pretty listless repetition of Clash of the Titans, something that can be seen from the flat playing of the protagonists.
