This is a wonderful film, in my opinion one of the most important concerts (and concert recordings) that for me also shows a confrontational image from behind the scenes (Bowie looks cocainated...). Apart from the great music, I am also very charmed by the visual style in which the show is shot. The contrast in dark red and blue light of the show is captured wonderfully unnuanced. A concert film that can be compared with films like Woodstock and GImme Shelter.

Bizarre, but typical 70s concert. Bowie seems to be performing in a completely different world. Which of course has already been explained here with the dark background with the red and blue lighting. Although I have not seen this movie in the best quality.

And I'll be honest, no, I'm far from a Bowie fan. I've never loved the Ziggy Stardust album. Bowie is indeed at his peak. Which indeed also got attention because of its appearance and appearance. With two eye lenses as the most famous aspect. But that was once the craziness of the 1970s. Also look at Peter Gabriel in his Genesis years.

Bowie is at the top of his career in this concert. I also found the backstage image interesting. However they are so serious about Bowie's makeup in the beginning. It's also funny that Bowie doesn't even feel a little weird as Ziggy. It's a typical 70's concert. But that also makes sense when we meet all kinds of Bowie fans .

Strikingly another piece of music used in A Clockwork Orange.

As for the whole music. Some songs I think are very beautiful and good. But not everything. The song Ziggy Stardust itself is not very good to me.

In the end it is visible that these are Bowie's best years. Because this is clearly something that gave him his reputation. In the end I would say: a decent concert by a decent artist. Who had a lot of influence in those years.

And even though I'm not a fan, still a 3.5 for this movie..

Seen in the cinema with my father on Monday, exactly 50 years later. This is more of a concert registration than a documentary. While the parts behind the scenes are the most fascinating. Nice concert that was filmed in a nice dark but also fairly static, so the concert on the silver screen does not really live. Except for the parts with lengthy guitar solos that also include some cool images of the audience in ecstasy. Nice to see but nothing more than that. I prefer the studio artist Bowie. 3.0*.
