August, 1944. Kosmas is a young criminal who marries Myrto after making money on the black market. What he does not know, however, is that his young wife is a member of a resistance organization against the Nazis. When another raid takes place, in which all the men of the village must gather in the square, Myrto suddenly leaves to Kosmas's surprise. She is going to warn the resistance, while Kosmas is pressured by the Nazis.
