The car was given the name "Christine" by the previous owner. Against the wishes of his parents, he buys the car and begins to restore and polish it completely. Gradually, Arnie's character begins to change and it soon becomes apparent that there is an abnormal bond between Arnie and his car. Friends watch helplessly as Arnie is completely taken over by the car.

Nice rewatch. John Carpenter tunes that pass by at the essential moments, nice eighties atmosphere (although the film is set in 1978/1979). Not the best John Carpenter movie, not the best Stephen King story, but great memory trip for all those who were there in the eighties.

Where De Palma has the filmed classic Carrie (Film, 1976) to his name, Carpenter is certainly not inferior to that other well-known topper of the author. Stephen King. Carrie and Christine, it's hard for me to choose. Both are very intriguing.

Not that the films are absolute toppers, but they do appeal to the imagination. The biggest problem seems to be the flat handling of the plot and characters. You can see Arnie evolve from silly to macho. This transformation is reasonably well put together, but has little nuance. The other characters are just so-and-so and not very interesting.

Christine is just wonderful. Beautiful car and for that reason alone nostalgic. The music indicated also underlines the nostalgic feeling of the film. The movie never gets scary, but it doesn't have to be. The atmosphere is great and some camera shots are great. Great to see you again after all these years!

Christine is a real work of art in terms of film. The story and its execution are almost perfect. Truly a great film that stands like a rock whenever you watch it.
