Le Premier Homme plot
Jacques Comery travels to Algeria in 1957, to the place where he spent his childhood. The people of the country are divided into two parties when it comes to where Algeria's future should lie; one party prefers that the country remains part of France, the other party prefers Algeria to become an independent country. Memories of his mother, grandmother and a young Arab boy surface in Jacques.
