Porfirio plot
Porfirio Ramirez lives in a shrunken universe, between his bed and a wheelchair, in a city somewhere on the Amazon. He sells calling minutes to provide for his income. Despite his hopeless situation, he has a dream: to be able to fly.

Slow but fascinating mix of documentary and drama, about a Colombian man in a wheelchair (Porfirio Ramirez) who, out of sheer desperation, decides to hijack a plane in 2005. The fact that Ramirez plays himself naturally makes the film a rather bizarre viewing experience, especially considering the many intimate moments that are featured, including a number of quite explicit sex scenes. Director Alejandro Landes portrays everything without any frills, but he skillfully manages to hold the viewer's attention, despite the virtual absence of camera movements. All in all a unique and unforgettable viewing experience.
