Staying Afloat plot

Alexander Hollingsworth III (Larry Hagman) is a millionaire who has spent his fortunes but manages to maintain his lifestyle by occasionally helping the police solve high-profile crimes. Bankruptcy is really in sight when his father disinherits him and he now has to look for a job. Then he meets Detective Ed Smith (Gregg Henry), who makes him a proposition: Instead of serving a sentence for tax evasion, Alexander should help the government track down a swindler who trades in illegal weapons.
